Here’s a photo entry of one of my favorite snacks… Takoyaki balls. Takoyaki literally means fried or baked octopus. It is a popular Japanese dumpling made of batter, diced or whole baby octopus, tempura scraps (tenkasu), pickled ginger, and green onion, topped with okonomiyaki sauce, ponzu, mayonnaise, green laver (aonori), and katsuobushi (fish shavings). My favorite here in the Philippines is the one from Karate Kid Japanese Fastfood. They add real octopus bits and the fish shavings is different from the others.
Yummy!!! I want one now!!!
I want to try making it but I don’t have the takoyaki pan. Maybe I should make an omelet type. Does anyone have a good recipe? Care to share?
