Easy No-Bake Oreo Cheesecake

My nephew and I tried this recipe last weekend and it was very easy to make. It tastes good but a little too sweet so you might want to skip adding granulated sugar or lessen the condensed milk. The recipe is from Yummy Magazine. I love that magazine! It has lots of easy to follow yummy recipes. I guess the name says so huh? Haha! Anyway, do you believe that when you’re craving for something, you’re lacking a nutrient that is in what you’re craving for? Hmmm… I’m always craving for something salty. Even if I’ve already eaten something salty, I still crave for it. So what does that tell me? But lately I’ve been eating a lot of sweets… well not too much, but I’ve been munching on that cheesecake we made. My nephew and I are the only ones who eat it because they say it’s too sweet. Haha! Well, it’s their lost.

No-Bake Oreo Cheesecake

375 grams Oreo crumbs
1/2 cup melted butter
225 grams cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
1/3 cup water
1 cup heavy cream

Line the bottom of a 10 by 2 inch springform pan with foil. Set aside.

In a bowl, mix together Oreo crumbs and melted butter. Use half of the mixture to line the bottom of pan. Press with a spoon. Set aside the other half.

In another bowl, cream together cream cheese and sugar. Add condensed milk and vanilla extract. Mix well. Sprinkle gelatin over water. Set aside for 2 minutes then melt over low heat.

Whip heavy cream until soft peak stage. Add gelatin to the cream cheese mixture then fold in whipped cream. Pour into the pan lined with Oreo crust. Top with other half of crumb mixture.

Chill for at least 4 hours. Serve cold.
